Common questions
How does storage-based pricing work?
Databases are free to create — you pay only for the total storage you provision, billed per 512 MB block per month and cheaper on 1- and 2-year periods. The first 512 MB is free. Each database is sized in 512 MB steps (up to 8 GB each), all drawing from your account's storage pool.
Are these the same as the MySQL databases in Web Hosting?
No — they're separate products. Web Hosting plans bundle their own unlimited MySQL databases that draw from the hosting plan's pooled storage (1 GB reserved each). The managed databases here run on separate clusters with their own storage-based billing — neither counts against the other.
Can I mix engines?
Each engine has its own storage plan, so you can run PostgreSQL for your app and MySQL for WordPress side by side — each sized and billed independently.
How do I connect?
With a standard connection URI shown in your dashboard, plus per-database credentials. Anything that speaks Postgres, MongoDB or MySQL connects — locally, from a VPS, or from another cloud.
What happens when my plan expires?
Your databases are suspended, not deleted — you have 30 days to renew and everything comes back exactly as it was. After that they're removed for good.
